Choosing a breeder
If you have decided to investigate this breed of dog, for the purpose of owning one you need to find a good breeder. My suggestion is to check with your local pet supply store. They usually have a list of good breeders. Secondly I would check in the news paper. After you have found one, ask questions like: do your dog's have any problems with hip displashia?
Or any other genetic problems. Find out where the dog's live and how they are treated. Ask how old the puppies are when you can bring them home. A note of caution if it is a good breeder they will investigate you, and see if you are a good enough person to own this breed of dog. They will come to your home and see the living conditions that you will provide for the dog. These dog's are very hard to breed and they have small litters, that is the reason for the caution. Don't be offended they just want a good home for the animal.

Patience
Well if you have gotten this far, then I hope you will consider buying an English bull terrier. They are great dog's. I feel like you could not ask for a better dog. They are very loyal, loving, and stubborn. They do take alot of work, you must have patience for this breed. I have found that these dog's are one family dog's. If you get one please keep it or make arrangements with the breeder to take the dog back while it is still young. Most breeders will resell the dog and give you a portion of your money back. A warning these dog's are very hiper and they will tear up just about anything if left alone for too long. They are like children, they will throw a temper tantrum. But I hope this does not turn you off to this breed, becouse they are exceptional dog's. Most all of these dog's are show dog's. One more thing this breed comes from England they were raised to hunt bangle tigers, they do climb trees and fences, and they are no relation to a pit bull! That is a myth. I hope you enjoyed this bit of info.

Grooming Tips

Here a few grooming tips that I use with my dog's.
1.Go to any pet supply store and buy a hand held sprayer,it makes bathing the dog a lot easier.
2.Gather all tools needed to bathe your dog, like soap, conditioner, cotton ball's,and towels.
3.Make sure your water is at the right tempture, I use my wrist to check the temp. You can burn your animal, just like a child.
4.Always start shampooing at the head and work your way back, this avoids getting the dirt and the shampoo in the animals eye's.
5.Rinse your dog well paying special attention to the underneath of the dog.
6.Apply conditioner, yes there is conditioner for dog's it really help's with the smell and help's loosen up any mat's in there fur.
7.Towel dry your dog well this usually takes 2 towels, even on a small dog.
8.Brush your dog and remove any mat's, even if you have to use the scissors, remmber it will grow back!
9.Blow dry your dog, they get used to the blow dryer after a few minutes. This will help to dry them so they don't get a chill.
10.Rebrush and style like you want, add flea powder if neasisary and a flea collar.
11.These tip's are usual for any groomer, and it won't cost you 35 dollars or more.
12.Also I read in the paper that any one that want's too can get a license to groom your dog. They do not have to be licensed!
13.So this means that they can cut on your dog and not know what they are doing, and I don't like the thought of that.
14.So I am warning you to this your animal could be at risk for injury, or even death resulting from this.(No accusations intended).
15.There are alot of good groomers out there, just be carefull and ask questions just to be safe.
